“Don’t fear child birth, that’s the easy part. There’s no Epidural for motherhood.”
A few years back I introduced the dinnertime ritual of going around the table & sharing the lowest & highest point of our day as a family, or as our 4yr old puts it, what made us sad & what made us happy. We do this at home, in a restaurant, & even in the car if that’s where dinner is that night. It may seem silly, but it’s helped us connect, resolve conflicts, & celebrate joys with each other. So in this section you’ll find all the highs & lows of life out here in the lowcountry. The parenting wins & fails, the amazing days & the hard days, the ones you feel like a million bucks, & the ones you look in the mirror & think “who the hell is that old, out of shape, tired woman? It must be the lighting in here, right?.” Yup, here’s where the ups, downs, & all the random thoughts that don’t fit in any other category fall. So welcome, put your feet up, bring your sense of humor & read on.
