My Professional Grade Makeup Bag
Okay ladies, many of you have asked about my makeup, so here are all my personal go to items!
Primer:
It all starts here ladies! I was late to the primer game. In fact, I was a hater, thinking it was crock, just a ploy for the beauty industry to fool us into giving them all our money. Boy was I foolish! Not only does primer create a silky-smooth, poreless canvas for your makeup to adhere to, but it also helps your face & eye makeup stay on all day without slipping, fading, or creasing. It’s time to get on board with primer, gals, & you’ll basically be boarding a yacht with Limelife’s base spray.
(No filters & lip colors below are “Devil’s Food” & “Cupcake”)
Wax base, matted foundation:
I honestly don’t know what I would do without Limelife’s wax base, matted foundation. I stumbled upon it a few years ago when I was searching for a new all natural skincare line. Ended up falling in love with the skincare & more, especially this foundation. It covers blotchiness & redness, is super lightweight, looks natural, & lasts all day since it’s water resistant.
(before & after’s have no filters, lip colors in order- “Peanut Butter Cup” enduring lipstick, “Ruby Chocolate” enduring lipstick, “Knot Telling” regular lipstick, “Devil’s Food” enduring)
Contour:
You can go with the powder bronzer, which I do often, or a darker foundation, which I do more often. If I’m using powder, I go with the “shimmer”, because I’m all about a little sparkle. If you’re not, they have a big collection 😉. Contouring with foundation, in my opinion, is a bolder, longer lasting look. I use the MB6. The first two photos are foundation contour & the last is the powder bronzer contour.
(No filters, lipstick colors in order- macaroon, crème brulee over top of candy apple, & angel food)
Paraben-free Mascara:
Mascara really is a girls best friend. It took me a long time to embrace anything other than drugstore mascara, because I’m actually a pretty cheap person, & I was perfectly happy with my $8 old brand..until. Until I was given this one a couple years back. It only took two weeks for me to fall in love. My lashes improved tremendously when I stopped using chemical ridden tubes that were killing them, so I’ve never looked back. Fuller, longer, darker & healthier lashes. One coat is perfect for work or the PTA meeting, but add two or three coats & watch those lashes grow for date night.
(no fiters, lip color “devils food”)
Lipstick:
Okay you have several options here, & they’re all amazing, but my go to is the enduring collection. The lipsticks are all beautiful, & the glosses are so smooth & not sticky at all. I have a place for them all in my heart & makeup bag, but I find myself routinely reaching for the long lasting ones. Who has time to reapply when you’re chasing toddlers around all day?! It’s the only lasting color I’ve found that doesn’t dry my lips out or feel yucky. Below are just a few of my favorites
(No filters & lip colors in order- ruby chocolate, macaroon, peanut butter cup, crème brulee, cupcake, peace gloss, peace gloss over the dark nude liner that I use as a lipstick too, candy apple)
Concealer:
Concealer can make you look younger or older so make the right choice with Limelife’s. This wax-base concealer is waterproof, hydrates your skin, & comes in a variety of colors.
I use the zero, which is much lighter than my skin tone, because I like around my eyes to be brighter.
(No filters, lip colors- devils food & macaroon)
Blush:
The easiest way to create a healthy looking glow is with a touch of blush! Keen, Peachy, & Glowing are my favorites. Glowing is great on its own or over top as a highlighter to achieve a noticeable glow. It also magically works with every skin tone, which is why it flies off the shelf!
(no filter & lip color is angel food over top of peanut butter cup)
Smudge Proof Eye liner:
So many options from Limelife in this category, but my go to is the black, perfect eyeliner pen. Professional, precise, liquid eyeliner pen with a fiber brush tip applicator that makes it easy to get perfectly thin lines, or bolder, darker looks. The pic below is from a makeover I gave my already gorgeous friend recently. Everything she has on is Limelife, but just look at the liner make her eyes pop!
(No filter & lip color is peace gloss over top of ruby chocolate enduring lipstick)
Brows:
My brows are pretty thick & dark already, so I don’t need a lot of help in this department. Therefore I only use shadow on mine. I use the brow brush to apply “brownie points” shadow. If you need a little more, the brow gels have been a big hit, since they are natural looking & will hold up all day. Check em out.
(No filter, lip is ruby chocolate)
Finishing Powder:
Don’t underestimate the power of this product! Limelife’s translucent powder simply disappears, which means no caking, creasing, or flashback. This professional formula sets makeup for longer wear, absorbs the appearance of excess oil on skin, & creates a flawless finish for foundation, concealer, & colored powders.
Highlighter: I’m currently using Limelife’s, but you cant beat the price of Anastasia Beverly's sun dipped glow kit.
(no filter, crème brulee)
Everyday Shadows I can’t live without: sweet dreams, blondie, brownie points, gold school, rose colored glasses, in sequins, cream boat, antiki bar.
Application tools:
Application is key! Even if you have the best makeup, you won’t get the results without proper application, & the right tools certainly help. I highly recommend investing in a quality blender. Limelife’s blenderful is obviously my go to, & I dampen it before rubbing it in foundation. I also swear by their fan brush for contouring. For blush & shadow, I think you can get cheaper brushes elsewhere that will do just fine, but I definitely think the extra money is worth it on the blenderful, fan brush, & brow brush if you use powder on your brows.
